Mathematical Epidemiology
Speakers:
Prof. Peeyush Chandra (IIT Kanpur, India)
Dr. Prashant K Srivastava (IIT Patna, India)
Abstract.
First we shall introduce the modeling process and then the application of differential equations in
modelling population dynamics and infectious diseases will be discussed. In particular, we shall focus
on - Basics of infectious disease modelling, Review of some important infectious disease models,
Analysis of models (linear and nonlinear stability analysis) and drawing inferences. Further
modifications and application of other mathematical tools will also be discussed.
